Privacy Policy

Faresight is a flight-deals app that watches routes you care about and alerts you when prices drop. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the controls you have. We keep data collection minimal and we don’t sell your personal information for money.

Information we collect

We only collect what the app needs to send you price alerts:

  • Email address (only if you sign in with a verified email) — if you sign in with a Google or verified email account, we store your email (encrypted) to send account and subscription messages (email verification, subscription receipts, renewal notices, and refund confirmations). Price alerts are sent by push notification by default; we do not send price alerts by email unless you turn on Email alerts — that setting is off by default, and when you turn it on we also send your tracked-fare price alerts to that verified email. You can turn it off any time (in the app or at app.faresight.ca, or the one-click unsubscribe in any alert email). Anonymous users provide no email.
  • Tracked routes & alert preferences — the flight routes you follow and your price thresholds.
  • Device push token — a token that lets us send push notifications to your device.
  • Subscription / plan status — whether you are on a free or paid plan.
  • Approximate usage data — basic, aggregated app usage to keep the service reliable.
  • Advertising ID & ad interactions (free plan only) — on the free, ad-supported plan we use your device’s advertising ID and basic ad-interaction data to show and measure ads through Google AdMob. Faresight Pro is ad-free. See “Third parties we work with” below.
We do not collect precise location or contacts. We store your email only if you sign in with a verified email or purchase a subscription, and we never email price alerts unless you turn on Email alerts (off by default).

How we use your information

  • To run price alerts and notify you when a tracked route changes in price — by push notification, and (only if you turn on Email alerts, which is off by default) also by email.
  • To provide core app features such as saving your routes and preferences.
  • To manage your subscription and plan status.
  • To send account and subscription emails (email verification, receipts, BC annual renewal notices, and refund confirmations) and — only if you opt in to Email alerts (off by default) — price-alert emails, to users who provided a verified email. Every price-alert email has a one-click unsubscribe; we never send marketing email.
  • To keep the service secure, reliable, and improve its performance.
  • To show ads to free-plan users through Google AdMob (Faresight Pro is ad-free), and — in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland — to ask for your consent before showing personalized ads.

Third parties we work with

We share only what is necessary for the app to function:

  • Flight-price data providers — we query them for route pricing. We do not send them your identity.
  • Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) — delivers push notifications to your device.
  • Google AdMob (Google) — shows ads to free-plan users. We share your advertising ID and app-interaction data with Google to serve and measure these ads. In the EEA, UK, and Switzerland we ask for your consent first (Google’s consent form on first launch); you can review or withdraw it any time in Settings → Ad privacy. Faresight Pro removes ads.
  • Google Play (Google) — processes subscription payments and refunds; Google is the merchant of record for purchases.
  • Resend — delivers our emails: account/subscription messages (verification, receipts, renewal and refund notices) and, if you opt in, price alerts. Used only if you provided an email; every price-alert email has a one-click unsubscribe; never for marketing.
We do not sell your personal data for money. The only advertising partner we share data with is Google AdMob, which shows ads to free-plan users (see above) — Faresight Pro is ad-free.

Data retention & anonymous data

We retain your account data only while your account is active. Aggregated, anonymous price-history data about routes is not linked to you and may be kept to power the app for all users, including after your account is deleted.

Your rights & choices

You can access, export, or delete your personal data. These rights are provided in line with the GDPR and the CCPA, regardless of where you live.

  • Delete your account instantly in the app: Settings → Delete account.
  • Or request deletion, access, or export by email — see below.
  • Free users in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland can review or withdraw ad-personalization consent in Settings → Ad privacy.
  • California (CCPA/CPRA): we don’t sell your data for money, but sharing your advertising ID with Google AdMob for personalized ads may count as a “sale” or “share” under California law. You can opt out any time by turning off ad personalization in your device settings (Android: Settings → Privacy → Ads); Faresight Pro removes ads entirely.
Full instructions are on our Delete Account page.

Children

Faresight is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
